The new Audi RS 5 Avant combines the uncompromising performance of Audi Sport, the latest plug-in hybrid technology, and the practicality of the elegant Avant body style. This is the first high-performance Audi RS with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. The system combines a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 TFSI engine producing 510 KM with an electric motor producing 130 kW. The total system output reaches an impressive 639 KM, and the maximum torque is 825 Nm.
One of the most important features of the new RS5 is the evolution of the quattro drivetrain.
Audi has implemented the Dynamic Torque Control system, which enables electromechanical torque vectoring on the rear axle. This solution allows for active torque distribution between the rear wheels and improves the car’s agility, stability, and traction.
In practice, this means a car that remains exceptionally stable at high speeds and offers a much more engaging driving experience during spirited driving.
Power is transmitted via an 8-speed Tiptronic transmission, which works in conjunction with the permanent quattro all-wheel drive system.
